The services first opened between 1968 and 1972 and was home to a filling station and a Little Chef restaurant. The Little Chef, when it first opened, was positioned to the back of the services in a building with a converted house design.
In the 1980s/90s, the site experienced some changes. For starters, the Little Chef was rebuilt and was moved to the front of the services. The new building had the pitched roof, double front design, the typical Little Chef house design of the mid 80s to early 90s. Along with this, the site recieved a Little Chef Lodge hotel which was housed inside a single storey building similar to other Little Chef Lodges such as Podimore and Barton Under Needwood. In the 1990s, the restaurant recieved a Coffee Stop outlet which became a retail area in the Granada era. The windows of the retail area were covered with vinyl featuring Granada's shop logo.
The forecourt was formerly branded as BP but it was rebranded as Shell in the mid 2000s and then Esso in 2011/12. The forecourt is open 24 hours.
The Little Chef restaurant is still operating today.
